If there was a Facebook post by the police asking about your whereabouts because of a warrant, you would logically stay clear of all social media and even go into hiding? Maybe you would even turn yourself in? Well, not Roger Ray Ireland. He decided that it would be a great idea to leave comments on the actual post made by Anne Arundel County Police Department for their #WantedWednesday campaign on July 23rd.
Ireland’s warrant was the result of breaking the limits set by his probation from his arrest in 2002. When he saw that viewers were tagging his family members to let them know about his wanted ad, he became angry. One of his resposes was, “Yo all yall people tagging my hole family bout my bi stay tha <expletive> out my <expletive> get yall <expletive> 2gether…” Sounds reasonable, right?
Despite his claim of, “You will never catch me,” he was caught the next day during a traffic stop. Seems like he shouldn’t have tested the Facebook waters of fate, or you know, just stayed away from Facebook altogether.
